Skydance Paramount Will Eliminate Around 2,000 US Jobs – Update
Paramount Skydance plans to start mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August with a value of $8.4bn.
Further international job cuts are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance aiming to disclose all specifics in its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.
Earlier reports had indicated that Paramount aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.
As of December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response on the matter.
