Chopper Spirals Wildly into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
A chopper hovering near a popular coastal beach suddenly started spinning uncontrollably, ultimately descending rapidly and crashing into a cluster of palm trees as onlookers observed.
Recordings shared on social media capture the aircraft beginning to twirl over Huntington Beach then descending near the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged between palm trees and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters stated five persons were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the crash on Saturday.
Three persons on the pavement were harmed. Details on their wounds were not immediately available.
